Scout Network is the fifth and final section of the Scouting movement and allows 18 to 25 year-olds who have an interest in both Scouting and their own personal development, and ultimately want to have fun, the opportunity to do so.
Scout Network members take part in a wide variety of activities, which they organise themselves with the support of a Scout Network Leader. These activities can include abseiling, camping, climbing, cooking, games, go-karting, gorge walking, hiking, pioneering, shooting and watersports.
In St Helens a small team of enthusiastic and dedicated 18-19 year olds have been working hard recently to set up a local network in the district.
Although a relatively new Network, St Helens Network are full of drive and ambition and want to have fun! Whether someone’s idea of fun is meeting up for a pub quiz, or heading for the summit of the nearest mountain, they aim to run activities to cater for everyone.
It doesn’t matter if you can’t attend everything and are away at university or have other committments as a leader or section helper, don’t worry, you can still join – they will email you regularly to keep you in the loop and you can just turn up where you can.
